Buying used robotic mowers
Robotic mowers cut little and often within a boundary wire or, on newer models, a satellite-positioned virtual boundary. They suit practice areas, surrounds, clubhouse lawns and some sports pitches, freeing staff for other jobs.
Battery health is the main thing to check, as batteries lose capacity with age and are the most common replacement. Ask for the unit's operating hours, check the blades and blade disc, the drive wheels and the body for damage, and confirm the charging station and any perimeter wire kit are included.
Make sure the model is rated for the area and slopes you need to cover. Check whether the owner account or anti-theft PIN has been released, and whether the app and firmware are still supported. Common makes include Husqvarna and Stihl. Ask the dealer for full details.
